Exceedingly Good Cornwall Day Trips That Make Special Memories

Updated: Jun 17, 2021

You’d have to stay at One Drake Road for a long, long time to even make a dent in the number of fabulous Cornwall day trips there are.

We’re always happy to suggest the Cornwall day trips we think you might enjoy, though you’ve probably already drawn up your wish list before you set out for your holiday.

Some of the most popular Cornwall day trip picks with our guests include –

  • Eden Project (81 miles from Tavistock)

This outstanding World heritage site opened in 2001, quickly becoming one of the most wanted Cornwall day trips. It attracts visitors from far and wide, enriching their lives with its promotion of the biodiverse living world, including the largest cultivated rainforest.

Its renowned Eden Sessions started a year later in 2002, gathering momentum in the 2010s. Duran Duran, Manic Street Preachers, Kylie, Tom Jones, Queens of the Stone Age, Chic, The Pixies and Madness have provided world class entertainment in the site’s crater that doubles up as an amphitheatre. Many Cornwall day trips have come to their perfect conclusions at Eden Sessions. The setting is truly magical, with the sun setting over the biomes as they become illuminated in rainbow colours after dark.

  • Land’s End (92 miles from Tavistock)

Like it says on the tin, Land’s End is the end of the country. It’s world famous for its glorious coastal landscape and Cornwall days trips really don’t get more delightful.

It’s West Country Shopping Village has everything you’d expect of a contemporary retail outlet. It also has the added bonus of a clifftop location, resulting in views you definitely wouldn’t find at a regular mall.

The Land’s End Ice Cream Parlour serves ice cream like you only get in Cornwall, made with velvety sumptuous Cornish clotted cream. For something super special, you can savour afternoon tea (Cornish clotted cream obligatory of course) at the Land’s End Restaurant, whilst taking in the panoramic views across the North Atlantic Ocean.

  • Poldark Tours (59 miles from Tavistock)

The recent television remake of the Poldark saga instigated one of the most popular Cornwall day trips from first airing in March 2015. There’s no shortage of great photo opps as you tread the same paths as Ross and Demelza across filming locations along the majestic North Atlantic and South Cornish coastlines.

Myself, Jack and the team here at One Drake Road love to hear about the very different Cornwall day trips our guests take, and the life memories that are made. It’s all part of our philosophy and our values as a business, to be part of those memories that our guests will cherish forever.
