We have created a home that stands the test of time and reflects our character.
The design has influences of our eclectic style with a sense of purpose and energy.
The house speaks the language of English decoration in all its eccentric, comfortable
and faded glory with high quality bedding, toiletries, food and service.
Established as an Inn in 1752, the house then consisted of a ladies parlour, a tap room,
dining room, larder, kitchen, a drawing room and seven good bedrooms.
There were four large underground cellars, a good bowling alley with adjoining courtlage,
two pig houses and thirty stables with overhead lofts and a secret lane to the Post Office.
The house now, a boutique B&B and two-bedroom holiday let provides a welcoming home with a drawing room, six well appointed guest bedrooms and a courtyard garden.
Our bedrooms are individually decorated with comfort and cleanliness our priority.
All of our house bedrooms offer full length mirrors, TV, radios and coffee & tea trays.
One Drake Road is located a two minute walk from the Tavistock Town Hall
and famous pannier market and a short walk to the picturesque Dartmoor National Park.
There are eight on-street parking spaces in front of the house available for free from
5pm to 10am and all day Sunday plus one hour of free parking during the day.
The infamous naval City of Plymouth is 12 miles away where main line trains
from Paddington London stop alongside regular coaches from London Victoria.
The border with Cornwall is around 15 minutes drive away. Port Isaac is 38 miles away, Padstow is 57 miles away, Newquay is 52 miles away and St. Ives is 80 miles away. All suitable for days out to the beach.
We welcome wedding guests and we are friends with all the local wedding venues.

We have free wifi throughout the house and a lap top, printer and an iPad, all available on request.
We have a lovely cobbled courtyard, once part of the main coach road from London to Truro with gorgeous plants, pergola and seating area.
During this socially distanced season, we will not be offering daily housekeeping during your stay but extra towels, tea and coffee etc will be available on request.

Children and Dogs
We love having little people over the age of ten around the house.
Dogs are welcome in the Stable or Scullery rooms with a £50 deposit.
