We’ve created a small boutique hotel alongside several self-catering apartments in the centre of Tavistock, a charming cottage in Calstock, Cornwall, and a picturesque village house in Coreglia Antelminelli, Tuscany—each designed to stand the test of time and reflect our character.

Our spaces blend eclectic style with a sense of purpose and energy, offering high-quality bedding,

in-room tea and coffee facilities, and Neal’s Yard organic toiletries to ensure a stay that’s as comfortable as it is memorable.

Originally established as an inn in 1752, the main house has evolved into an award-winning hotel, where warmth and hospitality come first. With a welcoming drawing room and six beautifully appointed guest bedrooms, it’s a true home away from home.

Nestled in the heart of Tavistock, we’re just a two-minute walk from the Town Hall Square and within strolling distance of some of the area’s finest restaurants, including The Cornish Arms, Taylors,

Church Lane, and The Annex—all highly recommended. We’re also close to Mount Kelly, regularly welcoming families from all over the world.​

Excitingly, we’re expanding!

 

Our latest venture takes us to Coreglia Antelminelli, a beautiful village in the heart of Lucca, Tuscany. We’ve purchased a charming village house, which we plan to have ready in 2025—bringing our signature style and hospitality to yet another stunning location.

 Breakfast

 

Breakfast is available for £10 per person and can be served in your room, the drawing room, or the courtyard garden. Exclusively for our hotel guests.

Wifi & Technology

 

We offer free digital WiFi throughout the house, plus a laptop, printer, and iPad for you to use whenever you need.

Parking

 

We don’t have a dedicated car park, but there are eight on-street parking bays right outside the house, as well as unrestricted street parking nearby. Plus, you’ll find several council-run car parks less than a five-minute walk away.

Housekeeping

To keep our prices as low as possible, we don’t offer daily housekeeping during your stay. But if you need extra towels, tea, coffee, or anything else to make your stay more comfortable, just let us know.

Early Check-In  and or Late Check-Out 

We often get asked about early check-in and late check-out—good news, we can arrange it!
For a small additional cost of £20, you can check in from around 12 noon or stay a little longer until 12 midday.
Just let us know in advance so we can adjust our housekeeping schedule.

All major credit/debit cards accepted but cash is always preferred.

Facilities

 

All rooms come with tea and coffee-making facilities and a hairdryer. Need an iron and ironing board? Just ask! We also have plates, cutlery, and glasses available on request, plus a laundry service if you need it.  

Bicycles

 

Bicycles can be stored and secured in our courtyard or in our garage adjacent to the house.

Arriving at One Drake Road

 

B&B guests please use the 'dark grey' front door' located at the side of the house on Drake Road.  Apartment guests please use the entrance via  the green stairs leading into the courtyard.

Dogs & Children

 

No dogs in the main house.

By prior arrangement in

apartment/cottage at £30 per stay.

Children over six are very welcome.

Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility for items left on our property.

We charge a minimum of £10 to package and return items via recorded delivery.

The hotel is situated within an old Georgian town house over 3 floors. There are staircases that do not connect and no lift.  The main entrance is accessed

via three steps. 

Number Two & Four Russell House and Paddons serviced apartments, Fourteen Providence are off-site.  One Drake Road apartment is located at the main house.

Iain and Jack deserve to succeed.

This is not a B&B, it is their home and you are made to feel like friends and house guests.

The fact that the whole place is straight out of

an upmarket beautiful homes magazine is just magic. Every room is different, with marvellously idiosyncratic touches... sometimes at the expense of practicality...but who cares, when you're marvelling at the craft and revelling

in the fun of it all.

The location is just perfect....

right in the very centre of Tavistock.

We were on motorbikes which,

thanks to Iain, we're easy to house.

Altogether a memorable stay

and I'll certainly be back.

'Direct' Booking Cancellation Policy

 

We have a fourteen day cancellation policy. 

 

In the event of non-arrival, or cancellation made after 2pm fourteen days prior to your booked arrival date, 

a charge equivalent to the rate booked for your stay will be charged to your credit/debit card. 

 

But in the event of you cancelling within the fourteen days prior to your arrival, if we can resell the room(s) you will be given a full refund.

Should you decide to book via an online travel agent, the booking policy applied to that agent and or booking will be adhered to.
