We have created a small boutique hotel with off-site properties that stand the test of time

and reflects our character. 

 

Our designs have influences of our eclectic style with a sense of purpose and energy with high quality bedding, in-room tea & coffee facilities and Neal's Yard organic toiletries.

 

Established as an Inn in 1752, the main house is now an award winning hotel providing a welcoming home with a drawing room and six well appointed guest bedrooms.

We are two minutes walk away from the town hall square, in the centre of Tavistock and we are walking distance away from The Cornish Arms, Taylors, Church Lane, The Annex, all highly recommended restaurants.​ We are close to Mount Kelly and look after many families from all over the world.

We are expanding, only this time in Tuscany, two charming houses close to each other in

Coreglia Antelminelli (Lucca) which we plan to have ready for Spring '25.

 Breakfast

 

Breakfast is available at £10 per person. Served in your room, drawing room or courtyard garden.

Wifi & Technology

 

We have free digital wifi throughout the house, a lap top, printer and an iPad at your disposal.

Parking

 

We do not have a car park, however, there are eight on-street parking bays outside the house. There is also unrestricted street parking around the house. There are also several council run car parks situated less than a five minute walk from the house.

Housekeeping

To help keep our prices as low as possible we dont offer daily housekeeping during your stay but extra towels, tea and coffee etc are available on request.

Early Check-In  and or Late Check-Out 

We often get asked about early check-in and or late check-out.  
- yes, we can arrange this with a small additional cost of £20 for either early check-in or late check out.
Normally from around 12 noon, or up until 12 midday.  
Simply let us know in advance so we can rearrange our housekeeping duties.

Check in is from 4pm.

Check out by 10am.

are available at £20 each.

All major credit/debit cards accepted but cash is always preferred.

Cancellation policy listed below.

No shows will be charged

Facilities

 

Tea & Coffee making facilities in all rooms. Hair dryers are provided.      An iron and ironing board available. Plates, cutlery and glasses on request.

Laundry service available.  

Bicycles

 

Bicycles can be stored and secured in our courtyard or in our garage adjacent to the house.

Arriving at One Drake Road

 

B&B guests please use the 'dark grey' front door' located at the side of the house on Drake Road.  Apartment guests please use the entrance via  the green stairs leading into the courtyard.

Dogs & Children

 

No dogs.

Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility for items left on our property.

We charge a minimum of £10 to package and return items via recorded delivery.

The hotel is situated within an old Georgian town house over 3 floors. There are staircases that do not connect and no lift.  The main entrance is accessed

via three steps. 

Number Two & Four Russell House and Paddons serviced apartments, Fourteen Providence are off-site.  One Drake Road apartment is located at the main house.

Iain and Jack deserve to succeed.

This is not a B&B, it is their home and you are made to feel like friends and house guests.

The fact that the whole place is straight out of

an upmarket beautiful homes magazine is just magic. Every room is different, with marvellously idiosyncratic touches... sometimes at the expense of practicality...but who cares, when you're marvelling at the craft and revelling

in the fun of it all.

The location is just perfect....

right in the very centre of Tavistock.

We were on motorbikes which,

thanks to Iain, we're easy to house.

Altogether a memorable stay

and I'll certainly be back.

'Direct' Cancellation Policy

 

We have a fourteen day cancellation policy. 

 

In the event of non-arrival, or cancellation made after 2pm fourteen days prior to your booked arrival date,

a charge equivalent to the rate booked for your stay will be charged to your credit/debit card. 

 

But in the event of you cancelling within the fourteen days prior to your arrival, if we can resell the room(s) you will be given a full refund.

Should you decide to book via an online travel agent, the booking policy applied to that agent and or booking will be adhered to.
